Redra Warra

She/her

Redra Warra is a half-orc from the city of Gallasaro. Gallasaro is on the edge of the riverlands, at the edge of the Titans Teeth mountain range. She is the only child of Ked and Odri, both half-orcs. As a child, she went to school with other half-orcs, humans and half-elves. She loved to be outdoors and could frequently be found wandering around looking for interesting plants. She always had a strong urge to heal. The other kids always said she would be a vicious killer one day - as with most orc herds. Redra vehemently denied this, saying she would heal, not harm. The kids just laughed at her. Those were hard days for her. Her parents made no promises that she would be able to follow her dreams, but they didn’t stop her from dreaming either.

Struggling to find any way of learning healing, Redra resorted to being patient and watchful. She became very good at observing others, but wasn’t obvious about it. She learned what she could on her own, but mostly met with the idea that an orc couldn’t be a healer. She also learned some basic fighting techniques from her parents.

One day, Redra’s parents moved the family to live with The Regnaz orc herd. This move confused Redra as her parents had always been against the typical orc herd mentality. During this time, The Regnaz gave her ‘formal’ fighting training that left her with many scars that she still hides. One day, she overheard something she wasn’t supposed to and knew she had no choice but to run. On her way out, leaving with only what she had on her at the time, she ran into the second son of the chieftain. A fight ensued, gifting her with the scar on her cheek, but she managed to escape. She ran. She spent many months wandering the Titans Teeth mountains. One night, cold and starving, she came upon the remains of a squirrel. Whether it was starvation, exhaustion, dehydration, this poor animal's death was too much for her and she grieved over this little body for hours. At some point in her grief she must’ve fallen asleep and when she did, she dreamed of a squirrel’s tail. It was leading her south. So, when she woke, she headed south. Every night she would dream of the squirrel tail. When she was coming out of the mountains, towards Althea, she came upon a group of soldiers who had just battled a giant. She ran up to a wounded and solider and prayed to heal him with all her heart. And she did! Surprising the soldier and herself.

Determined to learn more about her new gift, and to get far away from the Regnaz herd, she continued to follow the squirrel tail in her dreams until she arrived in Circle Creek. Cold and hungry, she found herself agreeing to work for the Horde as it sounded like a safe place to heal and to maybe learn more about this deity who had blessed her with the healing magic she had always wanted. She’s managed to make some great friends, both in the Horde and in the community of Circle Creek itself. She hopes to be able to go back, stronger, to help her parents if they need it and get the answers from them she needs. With the possibility of the Regnaz herd chasing her, she’s determined to put an end to having to run from them and hopefully their violent ways.

Cheryl is a mom of three and beer wench at the FLGS (Friendly Local Gaming Store). She was briefly introduced to D&D in 2015 but didn’t really get to sink her teeth into it until 2020…so she’s relatively new to the TTRPG scene. But she has fallen in love with it and can’t wait till her next game.
