Dalia Bonnechance

Dalia is a festival kid, who grew up on the road. She has no known blood relatives, but was raised in the Deni, an eclectic group of nomadic, spiritual, hard-working folks. It was kind of an ‘it takes a village’ approach to child rearing. She formed no strong attachments, as folks would come and go in the troupe. She was taught to read Oracle Cards by Meemaw, the matriarch of the Deni, and the closest thing to family Dalia had ever known. Having some innate fortune telling talent, she picked it up quickly, and was able to do the work, read the crowd, and make some gold. Because she interacted with so many folks from different places and walks of life, Dalia learned to speak quite a few different languages and learned customs from several cultures.

She lucked into her magic when a creature, that looked like a fluffy ginger cat showed up in her tent one day in Caebrook, while she was giving a reading. During the reading, the client knocked over a candle, and Dalia reacted instinctively, catching the candle, and setting it right, without having to touch it. Being a strong believer in Fate, she took it as a sign that her life should change direction, and she decided to strike out on her own. The customer she had been reading for was somewhat of a hero in Caebrook, the festival was in his honor, so when she heard that he was destined for the Gallant Horde, she set her sights on Circle Creek. The not-a-cat followed along, and as her luck had changed when he arrived, she called him Lucky. Their relationship grew, as between a witch and her familiar, and they work well together, even though he is less than sociable.

Once settled into the guild, Dalia took the advice to support the local community to heart, often shopping at the farmers market for ingredients to make a meal to share with the other members of the horde. As the guild grew, jobs were fewer and further apart, and Dalia grew restless. She decided to open a tent for reading her Oracle Cards, and it quickly became not only another source of income, but also for information. As her magical skills grew, she learned how to brew potions, and often spends days at a time in the work room with her cauldron, making potions and elixirs to help others. To relax, she makes jewelry, sometimes using things found on missions, such as snake bone, and Warg teeth.
